Beet pulp is a by-product of sugar production. It is the residue after soaking beet roots and tubers and pressing to extract sugar liquid. Therefore, there are a large number of water-insoluble substances in the residue, especially the crude fiber. It is a good juicy feed for livestock. It also has lactation effect on female animals and is mostly used to feed cattle. The main ingredients are soluble nitrogen-free substances, with very little protein and fat, a lot of calcium, little phosphorus, strong palatability, and a lot of crude fiber.
Beet pulp contains a large amount of water and needs to be dried before long-term storage or reuse. How to dry beet pulp?
Working principle of beet pulp dryer:
How to dry beet pulp? Beet pulp drying generally uses a beet pulp dryer for mechanical drying. The moisture content of dried beet pulp is about 12%, which is convenient for long-term storage or resource reuse. Process flow: After the sugar beet pulp is removed from part of the water by the screw dehydrator, it is transported to the sugar beet pulp dryer through the screw conveyor. Under the uniform plate transfer in the drum, the beet pulp is evenly dispersed in the dryer and fully contacted with the hot air, which speeds up drying heat transfer and mass transfer. During the drying process, the beet pulp is discharged to the star-shaped discharge valve at the other end of the dryer under the influence of the inclined lifting plate and hot air. The dried beet pulp has good color, low nutritional loss, strong palatability, and animals like to eat it.
