River sand is transported to the silo via belt conveyors or bucket elevators, and then delivered to the feed end by the feeder of the silo. The inclination of the feed pipe should be greater than the natural angle of repose of the material to ensure that the sand flows smoothly into the dryer. The rotating cylinder of the dryer is slightly inclined. The material enters from the higher end, and the heat carrier enters from the lower end, which may result in unfavorable contact between them; sometimes, the material and the heat carrier can also enter the cylinder together. As the cylinder rotates, the river sand is carried to the lower side under the action of gravity. During the forward movement, the wet raw material is directly or indirectly heated by the heat carrier, thus drying quickly. The final product is discharged via a belt conveyor or a screw conveyor. Chutes are installed inside the dryer, whose function is to flip the material up and down to increase the contact area between the air flow and the material, improve efficiency, and speed up the material's movement. The heat carriers include hot air, flue gas, etc. After the drying process, a cyclone dust collector is needed to capture particulate matter in the airflow.
